Daijiworld.com was founded by Mr. Walter D’Souza Nandalike on 14th January, 2007. At the time of its inception, it was called Daijidubai.com. The media firm was renamed Daijiworld Media Pvt. Ltd in April 2007. With almost 1.2 million unique users each month, the website has a strong presence, particularly in India and the Middle East nations. In addition to national news from recognized agencies, the Daijiworld portal provides a range of columns ranging from daily news, events, special articles, cooking, and other information covering Mangalore, Coastal Karnataka, Goa, and Mumbai, along with the Middle-Eastern nations.
Mr. Walter Nandalike, the portal’s current Editor-in-Chief, created Daijiworld Media as an April Fools’ Day joke. He’d moved to the Gulf for work and had little experience with computers. After learning the basics of computers, he wrote his first E-mail to his friends on April 1, 2000, announcing that he was hosting a website on the Internet. This was supposed to be a joke, but his friends took it seriously and began asking questions about the website. Mr. Nandalike, astounded by their interest, began seriously considering the concept. He studied computers intensively and developed www.daijidubai.com eight months later, on 14 January 2001. The primary goal of the website was to provide information and news about Konkani language and society. The name “Daiji” means “relation” in Konkani, and the site was founded by Mr. Nandalike and a group of writers from “Daiji Dubai Writers Forum”, with the goal of promoting and spreading knowledge of culture and heritage. The website is now called www.daijiworld.com
ATC ONLINE was given the task of upgrading the Daijiworld portal from dot NET to PHP Laravel framework. A team led by a project manager with two developers, two testers, and a system administrator accomplished this task commendably within a span of six months. There were challenges along the way as the developers had not previously worked on the now nearly redundant dot NET framework. The team therefore decided to mirror every single nuance of the existing Daijiworld portal and recreate a similar portal in the PHP Laravel framework. They were successful in creating a portal that is highly user friendly and provided real time daily classifieds, articles, columns, and regional and local news, and more, to audiences across not only coastal Karnataka but also the overseas diaspora.

It is also worth mentioning here that www.daijiworld.com has over a million active subscribers at any given time. Hence, the newly developed iteration of the website had to be launched with minimal downtime. Team ATC successfully anticipated and simulated the portal load test for a million plus users and were able to take the newly developed portal live overnight with a downtime of just five hours.
